BocaNewsNow.com reports that there will be an Elmo birthday celebration at the Learning Express in Boca Raton, Florida.   There will be face painting, and other fun activities for the children.   This happens on Saturday

Sesame Place will be celebrating Elmo’s birthday both Saturday and Sunday.  Sesame Place is located in Langhorne, PA and has year round fun with the Sesame Street characters.  For each birthday that  the Muppets have, Sesame Place takes time to celebrate.

Another a new addition to Sesame Place will be a Sesame Street parade with floats.    “Neighborhood Street Party” Parade features music, including favorites Sesame Street songs.   Visitors will see many of the Sesame Street characters including: Elmo, Count Von Count, Bert, Ernie, Abby Cadabby, Zoe, Cookie Monster, Rosita, Big Bird and Telly.

During this season of the tour audiences will meet a new character named Katie – a military child relocating to a new home. With the help of Elmo and other Sesame pals, Katie opens up about her fears and excitement as she deals with change and making new friends. The new show is headed to Alaska in late April on an around-the-world tour, and features a 25-minute high-energy character performance with special giveaways and vital outreach materials for those who attend.

The Fresh Beat band is a musical quartet.  Shout, Kiki, Twist, and Marina are skilled in several different musical instruments including the violin, drums, keyboard, and guitar.  The band appeals to their preschool audiences with fun music and dances.  You can watch the Fresh Beat Band weekly on Nick Jr.

Sesame Place is a fun theme park that has rides and play areas that feature Elmo, Zoe, Super Grover, Abby Cadabby, Count, Big Bird,Rosita and many of the Sesame Street friends.  Throughout the year there are many different live shows that feature Sesame Street characters and guests like the Fresh Beat Band.

Children can now read books with their Sesame Street friends online. There are ebooks available http://ebooks.sesamestreet.org . For a $39.99 subscription fee families have a full access to the ebooks for an entire year. Those that subscribe by July 4, 2010 pay the discounted subscription price of $24.99. Other features include an auto-play option that turns the pages for the reader and text highlighting that visually reinforces the narration in audio eBooks. The site also provides the option of viewing in Kids Mode, which simplifies the navigation for a child by displaying only the available books while removing parent tips and menus. eBook titles cover 19 subject areas including letters, numbers, counting, colors, and cultural appreciation.

Sesame Street Safari of Fun will include a new junior roller coaster designed for parents and children to ride together. “Air Grover” is full of mini-dives and twisty turns as families soar through the Sahara. Other kid-sized rides include “Zoe-Patra & the Hippos of the Nile,” a splashy flume ride through the famed river; “Rosita’s Djembe Fly-Away,” a swing ride that sends kids whirling above the African canopy; “Elmo’s Safari Go-Round,” a tribal-inspired carousel with Elmo and his friends; and more. “Oscar’s Swamp Stomp” provides cool water fun, and “Bert & Ernie’s Water Hole” is a wet adventure filled with bubblers, geysers, jets, dumping buckets and more.
