A new Sesame Street App has been released. Elmo’s Monster Maker App is available for the iPod and iPhone. The app allows iPhone and iPod touch users make their very own monster and send it to a friend. Because there are thousands of combinations, it’s easy to change the monster’s appearance. Once you’ve finished, Elmo will dance and play with the monster. Elmo’s photos of the monster can go straight to a user’s iPhone or iPod touch photo album.
A new Sesame Street play area is coming to Busch Garden Tampa Bay. Busch Garden Tampa Bay is located in Tampa, Florida and is part of the SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment group that also includes Sesame Place in Pennsylvania. Busch Gardens Tampa bay will include many of the Sesame Street characters that you will see at Sesame Place.
Sesame Street Safari of Fun will include a new junior roller coaster designed for parents and children to ride together. “Air Grover” is full of mini-dives and twisty turns as families soar through the Sahara. Other kid-sized rides include “Zoe-Patra & the Hippos of the Nile,” a splashy flume ride through the famed river; “Rosita’s Djembe Fly-Away,” a swing ride that sends kids whirling above the African canopy; “Elmo’s Safari Go-Round,” a tribal-inspired carousel with Elmo and his friends; and more. “Oscar’s Swamp Stomp” provides cool water fun, and “Bert & Ernie’s Water Hole” is a wet adventure filled with bubblers, geysers, jets, dumping buckets and more. A photography studio gives kids the chance to share a hug and a smile with Sesame Street friends, and musical performances bring tales of adventure to life.
Hasbro will soon take over the role as Manufacturer of Sesame Street Toys. Fischer-Price will continue to have that roll as manufacturer until 2011, when Hasbro takes over. There should be no interruptions in the distributions of toys this Christmas season or when Hasbro takes over. Elmo toys have been popular toys throughout the years.
Here is an image of a homemade Elmo birthday cake that a grandmother, and mom made for a wonderful little boy in their lives. The Elmo birthday cake came out great.
Every year Macy’s has a Thanksgiving Day parade in New York City. Each year there are beautifully decorated floats and large balloons of some popular characters. This year flying high up above will be a large balloon of Sesame Street’s Abby Cadabby. The sky will be a natural habitat for our flying fairy.
With her wand at the ready, Abby Cadabby, the inquisitive fairy-in-training returns to the Parade for another magical flight down the streets of New York City. Originally from Fairyside, Queens, Abby will be right at home with the crowd cheering her on as she helps ring in the holidays and celebrate the 40th birthday of Sesame Street. Although Abby is still somewhat magically-challenged, she is sure to delight millions of Parade spectators with her enchanting antics. Standing at 56-feet long, 37.5-feet wide, and 48.5-feet high, Abby is filled with 16,100 cubic feet of helium as she bounds happily down the route.
Hopping in the sky will be a former Sesame Street regular guest, Kermit the Frog. Those of us from an older generation remember Kermit the Frog as a regular on Sesame Street.
Kermit the Frog, the world’s most famous amphibian, takes Manhattan again in the 2009 Macy’s Parade. Kermit the Frog™ stands “slightly” larger-than-life, flying over New York City at 78-feet long, 36-feet wide, 60-feet tall and filled with 11,000 cubic feet of helium. They say it’s not easy being green, but Kermit sure makes it look easy as he flies triumphantly down the route this Thanksgiving, to the roaring cheers of his many fans, friends – and maybe even a few of his fellow frogs.
The parade will air live on NBC from 9am to noon. More information about the 2009 parade, including a change in the parade route
