We reported earlier that the original dates February 17th through 19th were canceled, but then there were no rescheduled dates at the time. Now according to wkbn.org, Sesame Street live will now be heading to Youngstown in June for several performances on June 1st through June 3rd. The original February performance was “Elmo’s Super Heroes.” In June, instead of “Elmo’s Health Heroes,” Sesame Street Live will be presenting “1-2-3 Imagine! with Elmo and Friends.” “Elmo’s Healthy Heroes” Sesame Street friends help Super Grover get “super” again by singing and dancing while teaching healthy habits. Elmo, Abby Cadabby, and Big Bird are among the friends there to help. “1-2-3 Image with Elmo and Friends” also has a slew of Sesame Street friends. This particular show is about Elmo and his friends using their imaginations to transport them to different places and have them do different things. Those that have purchased tickets to the original February performance can contact the box office to exchange tickets for the June performance.

Sesame Street has previously launched several other eBooks that available through apps on iPhone, iPad, and iPod.  These eBook have been interactive and included audio.  Some have allowed readers that allowed readers to read along at their own pace, others have included animations that have allowed to the book to come alive as the children read.

In the new age of technology fueled lives e-books will probably become more of the rule than the exception.   Hopefully the interactivity of the books will bring about more of the interest in reading that carry through from preschool years through adulthood.   Because we all know that reading will open children to a wealth of knowledge.

Once again Sesame Street joined in the celebration with a float entitled “1-2-3 Sesame Street.” Popular characters like Elmo, Abby Cadabby, Big Bird, and Oscar the Grouch. Flying up high in the sky was a character familiar to Sesame Street: Kermit the Frog. Kermit the Frog appeared often in the early years of Sesame Street. He gained popularity with some other Muppets in movies and television.

This month is Bullying Prevention Month; Sesame Street is highlighting bullying to preschoolers in a way that they can understand. Big Bird becomes the target of a bully bird. Also Abby Cadabby and Elmo try to explain to children the difference between tattling and reporting- something that is important for children to know many different situations, not just bullying.

The special episode, “The Good Bird’s Club” airs on September 17th. Other episodes relating to bullying will also air next week. In September 2007 the tour began at the Arkansas Arts Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. Now its final stop will be in New York at the Museum of the Moving Image.

The Exhibit presents many different creative pieces from the life of Jim Henson. There are sketches, videos and Muppet costumes. You can see some original drawings of Big Bird that in its first phase was not exactly like the Big Bird we know today. There are also costumes of Sesame Street characters Kermit the Frog, Bert and Ernie.
