Nickelodeon’s Fresh Beat Band Performs at Sesame Place Father’s Day Weekend

Sesame Street Place will be having several concert performances of the Fresh Beat Band on June 19^th and June20th. There will be three different shows on Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, June 19^th there will be live shows at 12:30pm, 3:30 pm, and 4:45 pm. Sunday’s live shows of the Fresh Beat Band will be 10:45 am, 12 noon, and 1:15 pm. Along with the live shows there will be a meet and greet with the Fresh Beat Band at 1pm and 5:30 pm on Saturday.

The Fresh Beat band is a musical quartet. Shout, Kiki, Twist, and Marina are skilled in several different musical instruments including the violin, drums, keyboard, and guitar. The band appeals to their preschool audiences with fun music and dances. You can watch the Fresh Beat Band weekly on Nick Jr.

Sesame Place is a fun theme park that has rides and play areas that feature Elmo, Zoe, Super Grover, Abby Cadabby, Count, Big Bird,Rosita and many of the Sesame Street friends. Throughout the year there are many different live shows that feature Sesame Street characters and guests like the Fresh Beat Band.

Sesame Street: Elmo’s A-to-Zoo Adventure

This fall two Sesame Street games will be released for the Wii gaming system. The first, Sesame Street: Elmo’s A-to-Zoo Adventure has Elmo and Zoe going exploring around the zoo while learning literacy concepts. In the second game, Sesame Street: Cookie’s Counting Carnival, Cookie Monster and Big Bird have fun teaching kids early math skills. In addition to being available for Nintendo Wii, both games will also be available for the Nintendo DS and PC.

Believing that the Nintendo Wii controller may be too difficult for your children to use, each of the games come packaged with a Wii game play helper. The gameplay helper is a soft fuzzy covering that covers unnecessary buttons on the Wii remote, while making it easy to grip. Sesame Street: Elmo’s A-to-Zoo Adventure will come with a furry red gameplay helper with an Elmo face. Sesame Street: Cookie’s Counting Carnival has its own gameplay helper that, instead of being red with an Elmo face ,is blue with a Cookie Monster face. These gameplay helpers are used to make playing the games on the Wii much easier. To make playing the Sesame Street games easier on the Nintendo DS, a larger stylus is included with the Nintendo DS version of the games.

Elmo Emceed Sesame Workshop Gala that Honored Vice President Biden and Dr. Jill Biden
Sesame Street Workshop held their 8th annual Benefit Gala on June 3th. Vice President Biden and his wife , Dr. Jill Biden, were in attendance. They were both recognized for the effort they make help military families. Vice President Biden’s eldest Beau Biden is part o Delaware Army National Guard, with which he has served in Iraq.

The night was a celebration of the work Sesame Street has made to help families in and out of the military. Elmo and Robin Roberts, from ABCs Good Morning America emceed the event. There was also a special performance from John Legend, who had many Sesame Street friends as his back-up singers. Elmo, Abby Cadabby, Cookie Monster, Telly Monster, Rosita, Zoe and Grover joined Legend in the performance of “Lean on Me.”

Sesame Street is an international favorite that is aired in countries across the world. Vacationing children will be familiar with the Sesame Street friends. Elmo, Zoe, Grover, Cookie Monster, Abby Cadabby, The Count and Bert & Ernie are already at the Beaches Turks & Caicos Resort Villages & Spa and Beaches Negril Resort & Spa. Now Big Bird will be flying on down to join his friends in those Beaches Resorts.

Jim Henson Exhibit with Sesame Street Characters Continue to Tour

A touring exhibit of the creations of Jim Henson is making its way through many museums throughout the country. Henson created some of our favorite Muppets, including many of those seen on Sesame Street. Although he has may be gone, his creative and imaginative characters live on.

Without “fences” to limit where his imagination could roam, Jim Henson (1936-1990)—artist, puppeteer, film director and producer—created elaborate imaginary worlds filled with unique characters, objects, environments and even languages and cultures. His work is enjoyed in dozens of languages in more than 100 countries. Jim Henson’s Fantastic World, a new exhibition from the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service (SITES) and The Jim Henson Legacy, offers a rare peek into the imagination and creative genius of this multitalented innovator and creator of Kermit the Frog, Big Bird and other beloved characters.

The tour started in September 2007 at the Arkansas Arts Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. Currently, the exhibit is at the Mississippi Museum of Art in Jackson, Mississippi. You can find it there until April when it moves on to National Heritage Museum in Lexington, MA. The exhibit stays for 10 weeks at each museum. Over the past few years the touring exhibit has been at several different museums throughout the country.

First Lady, Michelle Obama, Makes Her First Appearance on Sesame Street

Michelle Obama was on the set of Sesame Street in New York this week. She met Elmo, Big Bird and really enjoyed the visit. First Lady Obama was there to talk about healthy eating and nutrition, which Sesame Street has been talking about for a while. Even Cookie Monster has realized that cookies are a sometimes food. Childhood obesity can have disastrous effects on an individual. The message of healthy eating has been discussed many times, but it needs to be said over and over again until parents and children make changes in how they eat.

It is 2007 and there more Big Bird Christmas stockings than last year. The consumers have spoken and there demand for additional Big Bird Christmas stockings have now been answered. Big Bird is a Sesame Street character that has entertained many children. Many adults have grown-up watching Sesame Street and now their own children enjoy the show. One character that has always been a constant is Big Bird. No wonder so many people enjoy sharing their holiday with Big Bird and the other fun Muppets from Sesame Street.

Father in search of Vintage Big Bird Chair

We recently received a comment from a Dad looking for a vintage Big Bird chair.Â His daughter used the chair when she was a young child and now she is expecting a child of her own.Â He would like to get the chair for his new grandchild.

i was looking for a plastic big bird chair. I had one for my daughter when she was little – maybe 25 years ago. She was about 2 years old and the chair had big bird in yellow and blue legs – i think.

my daughter is going to have a baby and i would love to find the same chair – do you have any ideas as to how to find this old chair
